The Start-up Office not only supports students and researchers from Germany, but also specifically addresses international students and researchers from all over the world with a dedicated program. We know that, especially for people with an international background, questions related to starting a business in a new country often come with additional challenges – whether due to language barriers, differing legal frameworks, or cultural differences in everyday entrepreneurial practice. To make this entry easier, we have developed various support formats that are consistently offered in English.
A central aim of these offerings is to foster exchange among international individuals interested in starting a business. Like „Highway to„Highway to Hightech“ where participants can connect directly with the regional startup scene, potential partners, and funding institutions. In addition, through information sessions like „Future Founders Forum“ we provide hands-on, practical insights into the basic framework conditions for founding a company in Germany.
As a certified Young Entrepreneurs in Science Campus we are also part of a nationwide network that specifically supports early-career international researchers in transferring their research results into entrepreneurial ideas. For this purpose, we offer—often in regional cooperation and mainly online—English-language workshops on a wide range of start-up-related topics, from developing a business plan to questions of financing or marketing.
In addition, we provide a flexible learning format through the English-language IDEENWALD-Videoreihe „Startup-Kurs“ a flexible learning format . This series enables international participants to acquire fundamental knowledge about key aspects of starting a business—independently of location and time.
